About the Role
- Operate stemming trucks, electronic detonators, and firing units.
- Safely handle, transport, and use explosives in accordance with regulations.
- Comply with blasting plans and site safety requirements.
- Inspect and prepare blasting areas to ensure readiness.
- Maintain blasting records and stock control of explosive products.
- Support blast supervisors and engineers with planning and on-bench activities.
- Ensure all blasts are fired safely, on schedule, and without safety issues.
- Previous experience in a Shotfirer / Blasting Operator role.
- Current WA ‘C’ Class Manual Driver’s Licence.
- Dangerous Goods Security Card (DGSC).
- Appointed Shotfirer Authorisation.
- Criminal History Clearance (DG and Blast Secure Nominee).
- MPU and small loader experience highly regarded.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work both independently and in a team.
- Commitment to safety and compliance with explosives legislation.
- FIFO 8:6 or 7:7 rosters ex-Perth & WA hubs (flights, meals & camp included).
