GOALVTEC Partnership

GOAL VTEC has secured the government contract to identify, place and support Indigenous people into work, helping them secure long term employment opportunities.

We seek out Indigenous job seekers, prepare them for work, and place them into a job.

How does it work?

GOAL VTEC work closely with services, individuals and communities to identify, train (where required) and support Indigenous people into work.

At the same time, we work with employers, employment and support services and Indigenous communities to identify jobs and establish start requirements.

During a guaranteed work placement of 26 weeks, VTECs provide wrap-around support for the employee.

The five-phase approach:

Community engagement – Engaging with Indigenous communities and building work aspirations among Indigenous job seekers.
Work readiness – Strengthening the capacity of Indigenous job seekers and addressing barriers to employment.
Vocational training – Preparing Indigenous job seekers for a specific job in line with the employers’ requirements.
Guaranteed job – Creating a mutual commitment between job seekers and employers through a guaranteed job for 26 weeks.
Post-placement support – Focussing on employee retention, which could include employee mentoring and cultural awareness support for employers.
